Who is Mulugeta Woldetsadik?

Mulugeta Woldetsadik graduated from Addis Ababa University in Library Science in 1985. He has almost 21 years of librarianship experience.

From 1985 to 2000, he worked in various secondary schools and Bale Zone Education Bureau in Bale Administrative Zone, Oromia National Regional State, Ethiopia. He works at Hawassa University, Sidama National Regional State, Ethiopia since 2001, currently, he is a coordinator of two worthy International Partnership Projects named Books For Africa & HU Partnership Project AND Book Aid International & HU Partnership Project.

In addition to his professional duties as a librarian at Hawassa University, on a par time basis, he also teaches Library and Information Science at BSTL College, Hawassa city, SNRS, Ethiopia. For further details about his background click on the below link […]

About

It is apparent that blogs/websites always aim to retrieve and disseminate informative, entertaining, enlightening, and educational content based on standard factual information that can be shared, as well as analysis of social, economic, and political issues. It is used as an effective tool to “market” libraries and information services, activities, resources, and even librarians/Information Professionals, academics, and researchers.

Librarians/Information Professionals can obviously use blogs to disseminate professional, academic, and general information, or use them as an online resource to disseminate information, thus sharing information and factual knowledge with the public in order to reach out to the wider audience.

Mission

Based on those mentioned above, I adopted my presence online via my professional blog/website launched in 2017, currently titled ’21st Century Information & Library Network’ Professional Blog / Website. As a librarian or information professional in the 21st century, my mission or intention is:

To participate in international networks of Librarians/Information professionals in order to share or exchange professional experiences, skills & knowledge with professional colleagues, and scholars worldwide,

To create partnerships in order to support the surrounding communities. ‘Books Change Lives!’ I want to make a difference in the lives of students (girls and boys) by using my own professional experiences & communication skills in a deep and meaningful way by creating partnerships & collaborations with international books & IT facilities donor organizations.

To promote the latest trends in the librarianship profession that fit the 21st century.

To promote and support the international networking of librarians/information professionals.

To conduct interviews with diverse subject matter experts at home and abroad in order to share with the public or audience, their experience or expertise in the subject at hand.

To promote my parent institution, namely, Hawassa University worldwide by being an Ambassador of goodwill.
